How we audit
RTPwiki's value depends on the audit being defensible. Here's exactly how the database is built and refreshed, in enough detail that the methodology is reproducible.

Sources, layered
We don't trust a single source for any RTP figure. Three layers, in priority order:
- Provider press kits and official game info pages — the source of truth for which RTP variants a game has been certified at. Pragmatic Play, Hacksaw, Nolimit, Push, Relax, BGaming, Spribe, NetEnt and Play'n GO all publish this either as PDF press kits or in the game info panel itself.
- GLI / iTech / eCOGRA certification references — where the certification body has been disclosed by the provider or operator. We do not paywall-scrape lab reports we don't have access to.
- In-game info-panel inspection — the actual deployed RTP at each audited casino, read off the regulatory disclosure screen inside the game, captured with the observation date and (where lawfully retained) a screenshot in our internal audit log.
Tiers
Tiers exist to make the dataset legible at a glance. The numeric bands:

FAQ
How does RTPwiki source RTP data?
We layer three sources: (1) provider press kits and official game info pages for the certified RTP variants each game ships in; (2) GLI/iTech/eCOGRA certification references where publicly available; (3) in-game info-panel inspection on each audited casino — we open the game, read the deployed RTP from the regulatory disclosure screen, and log the observation with a date.
How often is the database refreshed?
We re-audit on a rolling cadence — each casino × game cell is checked at least every 8 weeks, with bi-weekly checks on flagship titles. The dateModified and observationDate fields on every page reflect the last verification time.
Why do casinos deploy reduced RTP variants?
Many providers — Pragmatic Play and Play'n GO most prominently — certify multiple RTP variants of each game with GLI or another testing lab. Operators license one variant per deployment. Reduced variants are cheaper to license and improve the operator's hold percentage. Disclosure is required only on the in-game info screen.
How do you tier the RTPs?
We anchor on industry benchmarks: Tier 1 ≥ 96.00% (certified ceiling for most slots), Tier 2 ≥ 95.00%, Tier 3 ≥ 94.00%, Tier 4 ≥ 91.00%, Tier 5 < 91.00%. Crash games and live casino use category-specific anchors but the same five-band system.
Are the affiliate links biased?
Ranking is based on audited RTP performance, not commercial relationship. Our casino partners are surfaced through /go/{slug} first-party redirects with Cloudflare Analytics Engine click logging. We disclose affiliate relationships on every casino review page.
How is the RTP exposed in structured data?
Every game page emits VideoGame + SoftwareApplication JSON-LD with RTP as schema.org additionalProperty, plus a Dataset with per-casino Observation nodes carrying measuredProperty, value and observationDate. This is the citation-grade structured form AI assistants can ground claims against.
